Our Environmental Plan Preparation Services

Our in-house degreed professionals collaborate to build actionable plans, including:

Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans are mandatory under U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules for certain non-transportation-related facilities that meet EPA oil storage and discharge-risk criteria. For instance, spill prevention planning may be needed if your aboveground oil storage capacity exceeds 1,320 U.S. gallons or your fully buried storage capacity exceeds 42,000 U.S. gallons, though there are exceptions to these rules.

Even if an older plan exists, it may need updating to reflect operational and regulatory changes.

Cura evaluates your facility’s storage capacity, operations, and regulatory obligations to determine the right SPCC plan path. Our team prepares professional engineer (PE)-certified plans and prepares SPCC plans for qualified facilities that may be self-certified by the owner or operator. We also support compliance with spill kits and training.

SWPPPs help prevent pollutants from entering stormwater discharges and waterways. Whether you need a SWPPP depends on National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) industrial stormwater permit applicability and regulated industrial activity.

Cura reviews your operations, Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code and potential discharge sources to determine whether your facility needs a SWPPP. If it does, we prepare the plan and support reporting, personnel training and best management practices.

For operations that have the potential to cause substantial harm to the environment by discharging oil into or on navigable waters or adjoining shorelines, our environmental planning consultants can determine whether you need to meet the EPA requirements for an FRP. When an FRP is required, we prepare a compliant oil spill emergency plan.

Why Your Organization Needs Proactive Planning

Environmental compliance often involves overlapping federal, state and site-specific requirements, which can be difficult to assess without dedicated regulatory expertise. We deliver that expertise, freeing your team to focus on operations.

A proactive environmental compliance plan may also reduce liability exposure and support safer, more prepared operations. If an emergency occurs, having a plan in place supports a faster, more organized and more effective response, potentially reducing the impact of the incident.
