A spill prevention and response plan ensures teams are prepared to act, not react, when a release occurs. Our field-experienced environmental and emergency management professionals evaluate your routes, cargo risks, driver procedures and reporting needs to build a practical plan.
Preparation can mean training drivers about how to avoid spills and what to do if one happens. We supply spill kits for trucks and create compliance-focused, practical written plans. Written plans document your preparation, guide safer response steps and support compliance after a spill.
Even with the best planning, accidents happen. With Cura’s 24/7 emergency response team, clients call one hotline from anywhere in the U.S. Cura dispatches local, pre-vetted response teams with the equipment needed to secure the scene, assess the release and complete the cleanup.
Throughout the process, you receive project updates. We manage compliance-related documentation and response requirements. From the Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) program, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), or federal and state requirements, we identify and navigate applicable rules.

Our waste minimization services support LTL carriers and trucking companies in managing damaged or rejected goods, cargo, as well as their own operational or fleet maintenance waste. Cura evaluates waste streams on-site and identifies opportunities for reuse, recycling, reclassification or disposal based on the material, regulatory requirements and other considerations.

Spanning tens of thousands of incidents across nearly three decades, Cura has supported carriers across North America with diesel, gasoline and cargo emergencies involving complex site conditions and multi-agency coordination.
During one incident in Arizona, Cura’s emergency response team saved the carrier over $100,000 after a 3,300-gallon diesel spill. This complex incident affected both state and federal property. Cura acted quickly, coordinating communication with federal land-management personnel, disposal facilities, environmental consultants and state transportation officials. Cura secured the site, excavated and disposed of more than 5,000 tons of affected soil in order to cost-effectively meet applicable soil and water standards and complete the remediation.
